Please Note: The deadline for the swimming competition has been extended to on-site registration. Please pass along the word to your friends who have not already registered as you have. They should arrive early and plan to compete in the first heats. Thank you for your registration and your help.

LOCATION: JUNE 21-22, 2008 - WEST CHANDLER AQUATIC POOL - 250 South Kyrene Rd., Chandler. Ph: 480-783-8262). Warm-up 7 a.m. Meet starts at 8:30 a.m.

IN ADDITION: By participating all competitors automatically qualify for the State Games of the West Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 24-27, 2008. The event will feature approximately 8,000 athletes from thirteen Western States competing for State pride & medals. Competition will be held at venues such as the US Air Force Academy & the US Olympic Training Center.

ENTRY FEES: Youth Events - $12 first event, 2 events $18, 3 or more events $20; Masters-$20 (includes up to 4 events).

ENTRY DEADLINE: Early entry deadline (postmarked on or before) Saturday June 7, 2008. Late entry deadline June 16, 2008. Any entry after June 16th will be accepted with Commissioners’ approval and a $5 late fee will be added.

RULES: Actual heat and lane assignments not available until the day of competition. All events will be timed finals with awards presented to top three finishers.

COMPETITION IN 4 DIVISIONS:
• Recreation (Youth) - Athletes 18 years or younger, not training with USA Swimming club or competing in a USA Swimming meet after 3/1/08.
• Open (Youth) - Any athlete 18 or younger, including USA swimmers.
• Adult/Masters - Any athlete 19 or older, regardless of whether registered (i.e. USA, USMS) or not.
• Limit (4) swims per athlete.
• Saturday - All athletes 18 & Under compete, with same events and age groups in each division, including Athletes with Disabilities .
• Youth Age Groups: 6 & under, 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18. Athletes eligible for Recreation Division may choose compete in some Open Division events, subject to four swim limit.
• Sunday - All athletes 19 & over, including Adult/Masters Division and Athletes with disabilities
• Events to be SEEDED BY TIME; with AWARDS given BY DIVISION and AGE GROUP.
• Masters Age Groups: 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, etc. through ALL ages (i.e. all Masters age groups).
• (USA)/United States card Masters Swimming (USMS) rules apply.
• USA Swimming APPROVAL and USMS RECOGNITION will be sought to allow times achieved in GRAND CANYON STATE GAMES to be available for use within those organizations.
• No affiliations with any swimming governing body is required for participation in GCSG, though USMS athletes must provide a copy of their USMS registration number if they wish their times to be recognized.
• Age on competition date sets swimmer's age group; Swimmer may only swim events in their age group.
• Swimmers should enter with a SHORT COURSE (25 yard pool) time for each event, if possible. If the swimmer has no time, enter as NO TIME. Entries without entry times will be seeded as NO TIME.

EVENTS: The following events will be offered (male and female heats for each event): Heat sheets and lane assignments will not be available until after warm-up on day of competition.
