International Summer Games

 

Track and Field - Youth

 

LOCATION: Saturday May 31, 2008 - Mesa Community College (1833 W. Southern Ave). Starts at 8 a.m. Sponsored and sanctioned by USA Track
& Field, Arizona.


IN ADDITION: By participating all competitors automatically qualify for the State Games of the West Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 24-27, 2008. The event will feature approximately 8,000 athletes from thirteen Western States competing for State pride & medals. Competition will be held at venues such as the US Air Force Academy & the US Olympic Training Center.


ENTRY FEES: $3.00 per athlete.

ENTRY DEADLINE: All USA Track & Field member entries will be done on-line: (www.coacho.com. On line registration deadline is Midnight, May 28, 2008, (Mountain time). Grand Canyon State Games entries may be done on line at www.gcsg.org, (these entries will be subject to a service charge). Paper entries will also be accepted thru the GCSG office, Entry deadline for all entries is Midnight, May 28, 2008. Corrections may be made until noon, FRIDAY MAY 30, 2008 thru the Arizona USATF Association Office. 480-949-1991.


AGE GROUPS: The competition is open to all youth athletes. USA Track & Field membership IS NOT REQUIRED. Competition will be conducted in the following age divisions, Year of Birth: Sub-Bantam (2000-01), Bantam (1998-99), Midget ( 1996-97), Youth (1994-95), Intermediate (1992-93), Young Men/Women (1990-91).


FIELD EVENTS: All athletes will be given 3 attempts, with the top 9 going to finals, for 3 additional attempts (excluding the Pole Vault and High Jump). Limit 3 events including relays, for Sub-Bantam, Bantam, and Midget; 4 events including relays for Youth, Intermediate and Young Men/Women.


NOTE: Sub-Bantam limited to the 100m, 200m, long jump, and 4x100m relay.


RULES: Ribbons first thru sixth place, all events. Current USA Track & Field rules will apply. Coaches and parents are responsible for the conduct of all their team members. Failure to maintain proper control and to display good sportsmanship could result in the removal of the team or individual from further USATF competition. NO SMOKING WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD OF COMPETITION OR IN THE STANDS. ALCOHOL IS NOT PERMITTED ON SCHOOL PROPERTY, CONSUMPTION WILL BE IMMEDIATELY REPORTED TO THE POLICE.
